Latest Updates from Our Project:
Two days left - with brand-new stretch goals!

Ho there, adventurers,
Our current update unveils TWO BRAND-NEW STRETCH GOALS, and then presents some of the unique companions you can recruit in the game! Note that the companions are already secured - they have nothing to do with the stretch goals.
This is a big update, so prepare yourself for the journey!
Would you like to build your own golem in the game as a wizard? This goal allows you to build a powerful construct in the later stages of the game that will accompany your party under your control.
Depending on your character's class, the golem can be as follows:
Ice Golem (Wintermage)
Bone Golem (Necromancer)
Iron Golem (Spellweaver)
Rilvite Golem (all wizard classes at very high levels)
The same stretch goal also adds the option to select your tattoo at character creation.
We've also revealed another stretch goal: Piracy & Trading with your own ship - hunt wicked pirates, or become the wicked pirate yourself! Once the golem crafting goal is reached, Piracy & Trading will no longer be impossible - most Kickstarter campaigns gain immense momentum and raise even more funds when high-level stretch goals are unlocked!
Featured Companions
In the second part of the current update, we will present five of the several companions that you can recruit in Avaria: Iron Rule:
The Fellowship
Numerous friends and allies can be encountered in Avaria, and we'd like to introduce a few of them to you. This is our favorite selection, but you are free to shape your party as you see fit, hand-picking your favorites from all the companions offered by the game, or perhaps brave the dangers of Avaria completely solo.
You will meet them in Avaria, as well as many others - and their stories will also be told.

Native Lore and Wishlisting Open!

Greetings, adventurers,
If you haven't wishlisted us on Steam yet, we encourage you to do so! We're also happy to share that the game can now be wishlisted on GOG as well.
In our next update, we'll present five of the amazing companions (Kondrus, Felod, Hurkma, Carvalion, Zem) you can recruit in Avaria: Iron Rule. Stay tuned! In the meantime, we are thrilled to highlight two exotic races of the world in today's update:
The Natives of Avaria
The first explorers from Isilmerald found two intelligent native species on the island: the fish-like L'feekeen, who made their homes on the beaches and rivers, and the enigmatic Myrmids who resemble giant humanoid ants.
The L'feekeen are skilled swimmers, fisherfolk and pearl divers. Slender in body, their temperaments tend to be inquisitive yet skittish. They do not normally practice arcane magic, but have a unique clerical tradition in service to Omeyrenon, the God of the Sea.
L'feekeen Shamans are honored members of every tribe.
The Myrmids are an enduring mystery. Withdrawn and extremely secretive, they pursue a policy of absolute pacifism, which led them to enter into a 'treaty' with Isilmerald - an agreement that obliges them to provide hundreds of workers each year while getting nothing in return.
Equally unexplained are the miles and miles of abandoned tunnels the Myrmids have left under almost every part of the island. Once they were everywhere. Now they occupy only a single great nest, and no one knows why.
And this is merely what the colonists know at present. There is much, much more left to learn about Avaria's native species - including secrets no one could have imagined...
The natives are spared at least one dreadful occupation - rowing every inch of the way from Isilmerald to Avaria as galley slaves, in conditions that many do not survive.
That's all for today. Thank you again for your support. If you haven't visited our camp yet, be sure to stop by our Discord and chat by the fire!

Goals Reached and Character Creation

200% funded! Wow!
Another two goals smashed! The Ship Captain & Modding Support stretch goal and the Greycloak NPC social goal were both reached - we are at 200% of our funding at €50,000!
The new stretch goal at €65,000 adds two brand-new character classes to the game: a new spellcaster class and a new (and so far the only) bard class! The next social goal (Newcomer - a new NPC) is to reach 250 shares (not likes) of our Facebook post.
Character Creation
In the current update, we've put together a brief and super simple step-by-step overview of creating your character in Avaria: Iron Rule. Note that this might not match the final version exactly, as fine-tuning is still in progress.
Difficulty First, pick your difficulty level. There are several to choose from to suit your preferred level of challenge, as well as various optional choices to customize your experience, including a new immersive mode that will hide skill check notifications and results.
Preset or New If you don't want to create a new character, a variety of preset characters are provided for convenience. Otherwise you can design your own character from scratch in the classic style.
Race and Sex Choose from all the available options - humans, dwarves, elves, Feldegugs, Rillows and L'feekeen. We'll cover races in more detail in a later update.
Class Avaria's classes range from martial to magical, from spiritual to larcenous. Similar classes share certain themes, but each has different skills and unique restrictions on equipment, which keeps them fresh to play. Most importantly, each class is a viable choice that you can take all the way to the end.
Multiclass options are available as well, allowing you to gain the powers of multiple character classes. All class options can be selected by all races.
Attributes Roll for your physical attributes, then fine-tune them using a point-buy system to create the character you desire. Attributes can reach up to 15 points, though racial bonuses will allow you to exceed these normal limits.
Skills, Spells & Abilities Allocate points to non-combat skills such as Thievery and Persuasion. Then, choose your starting spells or abilities. The ability system and upgrade trees are still being actively refined, so we won't cover them in detail in this update.
Customize The customization tab offers a variety of options for tweaking your appearance to your heart's content, so you can truly bring your chosen character to life.
Origin Here you can choose your Origin, a combination of background and social status. Your choice of Origin determines your starting position and initial questline, as well as your Rank - your place in the social order of Isilmerald, whether it be Noble or Official, Commoner or Slave.
As a member of the privileged, many will live in fear of you and struggle to trust your intentions. You may gain powerful allies just by the strength of your family name... and powerful enemies.
As a member of the masses, you face much less scrutiny wherever you go, and have an easier time making friends in low places. You may find there is great power in numbers!
There are many advantages to being born Noble.
You're done - your character is ready to step into the cutthroat society of Avaria.

Ho there, adventurers,
This is so great! We launched only a week ago, and not only the base goal was funded, but we also reached our first stretch goal (a new playable race) and today - one thousand backers! We're now heading towards a 2-in-1 stretch goal: Ship Captain & Modding Support!
In the upcoming days, we will post an update about the Character Creation process, and another one covering the native races of Avaria. Stay tuned!
Indie Spotlight: Wyldheart
We also want to highlight another Kickstarter campaign we're big fans of!
Wyldheart is a 1–4 player co‑op action RPG set in a rustic fantasy world, created by a team of ten ex‑AAA developers who previously worked on titles like Star Wars Battlefront II and Battlefield. Uniquely, Wyldheart is being built for busy gamers, with bite‑sized campaigns, seamless drop‑in/drop‑out co‑op, and flexible party composition designed for friend groups who want to play together without the scheduling stress.
Their Kickstarter is already fully funded, and there are only a few days left to grab some of the exclusive rewards, including Beta Access starting May 15, the Backer’s Backpack (complete with an adorable mouse companion), and premium tiers like Be a Guest Designer, where you can collaborate directly with the developers to add your own idea into the game.
Thank you so much again for your support! By the way, if you haven't done it yet, be sure to wishlist Avaria on Steam, and visit our Discord to share your stories!

Ho there, adventurers!
Good news! The L'feekeen have become a playable race! We are preparing an update about the game's races very soon – we can't wait to share it with you! Our next stretch goal is a 2-in-1 pack: the option to choose Captain as your Origin in the character creation screen, and Modding Support for the game.
Let's write a success story together! Sharing our Facebook post usually brings several new backers, so it would help a LOT! Thank you!
